The Energy Central Institute will be a new higher-level skills and innovation facility, developing energy sector expertise at degree and PhD levels (ages 18+). 

It will also create a focal point for collaboration between local energy businesses, ORE Catapult, and North East universities. The Institute aims to develop higher-level skills and technological innovations to keep Blyth at the forefront of energy sector growth.

The Institute will be built in the town centre of Blyth and aims to start building in 2025.
